I want memories without a camera
Pictures not on an iPhone
I want to look back in my mind
And not my Facebook photos.
I need more reality than my TV
Friendships that can’t delete me
Conversations lasting longer than a tweet
140 isn’t enough to say why you need me.
A timeline not dependent on those online,
Waiting to refresh life like I can move behind,
All the things I said I would do,
If I didn’t sit and watch that vine.
I need a vision further than the lens,
in your incredible Instagram feed,
about where you were last weekend,
while I sat at home and searched the new trends,
never once leaving my bed,
or stepping outside to see real friends.
Instead of snapchatting the events,
when I venture out beyond my ends,
I should chat with those who actually attend,
and make memories, right there and then.
